Mission Maker Spotlight: Sacred Selections
Adoption has always been in my life and on my heart. My parents adopted my brother 2 years before I was born, so I grew up knowing a lot about it. And Ephesians 1:5 tells us that if we've chosen to follow God and His Son, we've been adopted and God calls us His SON or DAUGHTER.
A few weeks before I decided to become a Mission Maker, some friends of mine told me about their decision to adopt a baby. If you're familiar with adoption, you know that it costs a lot of money! I immediately thought about how I could help them. My husband and I aren't in a position to donate a ton of money, but I knew I wanted to help them on their journey. I started praying about their new baby and I asked God for a way that I could help them. Then, I ran into DeAnne. I graduated with her brother and had taught for a few years with her mom. As soon as I heard about her new venture, Mission of Mary, I was intrigued. And when I heard that I could choose the mission to where some of the proceeds would go, I was HOOKED! This could not only get my friends and family pretty, scripture-inspired jewelry, but I could also help out my friends on their adoption journey. It was perfect! God knew what I needed and put the opportunity in my path. I'm glad that I get to help my friends get their baby. And I know that after they get their baby, I'll still be able to help others through my chosen mission, Sacred Selections.
